Welcome to Vintage Films (“we”, “us”, “our”).
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access and use of our website and streaming platform available at https://vintage-films.com (the “Service”).

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Nature of the Service

Vintage Films provides access to curated audiovisual works that are in the public domain and therefore not subject to copyright protection. The Service does not sell or license copyrighted content, film rights, or intellectual property.

Users pay for access to the platform experience, including streaming interface, discovery, search, curation, and platform features — not for the acquisition or redistribution of copyrighted works.

2. Eligibility

To use the Service, you must:

  • be at least 16 years old (or of legal age in your jurisdiction),

  • use the Service for lawful purposes,

  • agree to comply with these Terms.

3. User Accounts

Some features may require account creation.
You agree to provide accurate information and are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Subscription and Payments

Access to the Service may require a subscription or access fee.

By purchasing a subscription, you agree that:

  • payments are processed securely via third-party payment providers (e.g., Stripe),

  • subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled,

  • cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.

No refunds are issued for partially used subscription periods unless otherwise required by law.

5. Use of Content

All films available through the Service are identified as public domain works, meaning they are not protected by copyright and may be used freely by anyone for any purpose, including commercial use.

You may stream content for personal use through our platform interface.
You may not:

  • rehost or redistribute the platform interface,

  • sell access to the platform under your own brand,

  • misuse the platform in a way that disrupts service integrity.

These restrictions apply to the platform experience, not to the underlying public domain works themselves.

6. Intellectual Property

Vintage Films does not claim ownership over any film, video, or audiovisual work in the public domain.

However, Vintage Films does retain intellectual property rights over:

  • website design,

  • platform UX/UI,

  • logos and branding,

  • search and discovery features,

  • platform software and code,

  • curated collections and categorization.

7. Availability and Modifications

We may update, modify, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time, including features, collections, or platform access.

We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of major changes.

8. Compliance with Public Domain Status

Vintage Films selects films solely from sources that explicitly identify works as public domain.
Verification includes review of:

  • licensing disclosures,

  • publication dates,

  • authors’ death dates,

  • U.S. copyright rules and international public domain criteria.

If any work is later found to have disputed copyright status, it will be removed promptly.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service may include integrations with third-party providers (e.g., payment processors).
Vintage Films is not responsible for failures or liabilities caused by those third parties.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis.

We make no warranties regarding:

  • uninterrupted access,

  • platform error-free operation,

  • completeness of the public domain dataset.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law:

Vintage Films shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate user access for:

  • unlawful use,

  • system abuse or fraud attempts.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Estonia, without regard to conflict of law principles.
